Homes in Mexborough

Mexborough is a former mining, pottery and railway town in the Dearne Valley, between Doncaster and Rotherham. Its housing is dominated by Victorian and Edwardian brick terraces built for miners, railway workers and glassworkers, many now modernised, and prices are among the most affordable in South Yorkshire, popular with first-time buyers and landlords.
Conisbrough, to the east, has a Norman castle overlooking terraced streets and inter-war housing, while Denaby Main was built as a colliery village with long rows of terraces. Swinton and Wath-upon-Dearne have a mix of terraces, post-war estates and newer developments, and the Dearne Valley has been extensively regenerated since the pits closed, with former colliery land turned into nature reserves and business parks. The Don and Dearne both run close by, and parts of the area flooded in 2007 and 2019.
Areas we cover include Conisbrough, Denaby Main, Swinton, Wath-upon-Dearne, Adwick upon Dearne.
