Homes in Arnold

Arnold is a large suburban town north of Nottingham that grew from a hosiery village into a major residential area. Its older core has Victorian terraces around the Front Street area, while Daybrook and Woodthorpe have Edwardian and inter-war semis and detached homes. Some older cottages and former framework knitters' houses survive close to the centre.
Much of Arnold was built between the 1930s and 1970s, with large private estates of semis and bungalows and council housing at Killisick, followed by later developments towards Redhill and Mapperley Plains. Most homes are brick built and many have been extended. Arnold has hilly terrain in places, and the Day Brook has a history of flooding. Gedling Colliery operated nearby until 1991. Woodthorpe Park and Arnot Hill Park are popular local draws, and roads near them command a premium. Expect plenty of porches, conservatories and garage conversions added over the decades.
Areas we cover include Daybrook, Redhill, Woodthorpe, Mapperley Plains, Killisick, Bestwood Village.
